Perhaps the County can meet us half way...

Huw Merriman, MP talking to Eastbourne Buzz

It’s a travesty, so short sighted. Society will pay a price for not investing in arts and reading. Libraries should be the centre of a civilised democracy, they stand for freedom of thought and equality where everyone can borrow books irrespective of whether they can afford to buy them. It’s a backward step to think that libraries are not needed. Bombarded with information, librarians are needed more than ever to help us access good quality information.

Helen Dennis, local author of the The Secret Breakers series of six books and the River of Ink quartet
